Sonic and the Black Knight confusion
« on: March 17, 2009, 07:07:52 pm »
I want to compete in this game, however I am a bit confused as to where I am supposed to play.

I want to compete in the Time section but I am not sure what mode I need to be in? When I pick a stage I want to Time attack do I do it from the Leaderboard Menu? Or Do I do it from the Story mode menu? It is my understanding that times will not save unless your score is a new record, but... I believe you guys mentioned some stages let you optionally record times? AGHHH this is so confusing!

Can an expert on the game or someone in the know tell me exactly what mode to pick when I want to compete in a time attack stage? And clarify any other exceptions? Also... The different modes are killing me. I haven't quite beaten the game FULLY yet so I am not sure what Legacy mode is.

Thanks and sorry for being kinda clueless...  =/

You want to select the mission from the single player story mode menu. Times never properly save in this game, but there are certain missions that show your time on the results screen, and those are the missions we track; across all the levels, when you submit a stat the one we're looking for is whatever shows up on the results screen below your score.

Also, Legacy's not a mode; it's a mission type. You'll start unlocking them as you complete more missions.

Oh okay! Thank you very much for the clarification on that. When I get a time I want to post am I supposed to take a picture of it or something? Do you require proof with submissions?

We don't require proof unless your stats gain sufficient suspicion for you to be called out. In that event proof's good to have, but a lot of the time knowing the strat required to get a time is enough.

Some of the older sonic games have no time recorder don't they? Does that mean on the older games it has to be timed by hand using a stop watch? If this is the case why can't the other levels be put under a separate category that labels them as "Externally recorded Times"?

...where on the site do we track games that don't have a built-in timer? Shoot, and I thought I'd submitted for everything but the storybook games. :(

o_o; Don't take me literally there! That was more of a question than an assertion. To be quite honest I am not completely sure if you guys do games that don't have a built in timer, but I do know some sonic games don't record time.

in that instance, we don't put up charts for games with no timer.

one thing also,
if we see a stat that's way out there (like 00:09:xx or something out there) we will ask for proof,
so try not to bs :(
